From from the historical Ben Ean Vineyard, planted in 1870 by John McDonald and purchased by the Lindeman Family in 1912. Some of the most iconic wines of the 70's and 80's were made from this site, so the hype is real. 

The fruit was crushed and left to cold soak on skins for 3 days. Fermented in open stainless fermenters, with plunging 3 times per day. At completion of ferment, the wine was racked into a mix of new French and 1 year old oak barrels for extended time in oak before filtration and bottling.

This small batch represents a unique vineyard site carrying a lot of history on its shoulders.
The 2021 is deep in its profile with bold, ripe and savoury characters. Delightfully perfumed with cherries, rasperberries, yet multilayered with warm all spice and nuts. The palate is generous with
silky tannins, fleshy dark blue and red fruits, chocolate and anise and finishing with a hint of pepper & racy freshness layered into lovely French oak. this is an elegant style that is crunchy and appetising - a young modern style to enjoy.
