Little Wine Co 2021 Shiraz Tempranillo
The grapes are grown on the beautiful McNamara vineyard in the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley. The Shiraz and Tempranillo vines are now 25 years old and grow side by side adjacent to the Wollombi Brook. Due to their low yielding nature (approximately 2.5 tonnes per acre) they achieve optimal ripeness and terrific flavour.
The fruit was crushed to open fermenters and cold-soaked for 24 hours prior to fermentation. Fermented on skins for approximately 5 days with a combination of hand plunging and pump-over method. The wine was taken off skins relatively early to maintain its bright fruity aromas.
Vibrant dark berry fruit and a smooth palate make this a delicious, easy-drinking style. Lightly oaked to showcase the varietal characters the complement each other so well. Best drinking window 2023 to 2026.
